LEMON GROVE, San Diego County — October 25, 2026. The City of Lemon Grove is asking residents to help shape proposed changes to Madera Street, including safer crossings, lighting and potential bicycle facilities. The city’s official project page states that no decisions about improvements have been made because the work remains in an early design stage.

How residents can share input on October 30

The municipality schedules a Boo-th-or-Treat community pop-up for Friday, October 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 3131 School Lane, Lemon Grove, CA 91945. Project staff plan to gather comments during the activity. Residents should verify any latest event conditions and whether an online questionnaire is available before traveling. The city’s project page still shows a placeholder marked for a survey link; that placeholder is not a functioning survey address.

What ideas are being considered?

Potential design concepts listed by the city include a raised crosswalk and flashing lights at Ramon Street, a roundabout or four-way stop at Ramon Street, narrower travel lanes, standard or separated bicycle lanes, improved street lighting, street trees, accessible curb ramps and curb extensions. These are options under consideration, not improvements authorized for construction. Whether a particular feature becomes part of the final design depends on engineering review, public consultation and subsequent city decisions.

Earlier meetings and next steps

The city scheduled its first project open house for September 29 at San Altos Elementary School. The October 30 event is another opportunity to participate; the project page says a second open house will be announced later. For detailed questions, the city names Atilano Moran, Senior Management Analyst, at amoran@lemongrove.ca.gov or (619) 825-3811.

The city also listed a Planning Commission meeting October 26 and October 20 public hearings on downtown zoning and Community Development Block Grant spending. These are different municipal matters. The existence of an October 20 hearing notice does not prove that a proposed downtown plan was approved; look to adopted records for an outcome.

Lemon Grove News will follow the final road design and community feedback using city records.
